Chamber Thanks Our CEO

Waterbury REGIONAL CHAMBER THANKS CEO HIGGINS FOR HIS LEADERSHIP AND DEDICATION TO THE YOUNG PROFESSIONAL GROUP

5.15.2024

The Waterbury Regional Chamber's annual meeting was held in mid April. The chamber celebrated 134 years in business this year serving the Waterbury region. The chamber has been a driving force for connecting our small businesses in our community. The chamber has a leadership program and each year professionals from across the region are grouped and tasked with projects. The goal of this program is to create the next generation of leaders in our community. As a result of that program, in 2012 a new program of the chamber was created: The Young Professionals of Waterbury Region. A group that was targeted for professionals between 18 and 40 to have an opportunity to learn, grow, network, and create solid business relationships for the future. At the onset of the group, it hit the ground running and the group has held countless networking sessions, educational series, and more.

Our CEO, James A. Higgins, joined the group shortly after its inception and has been continuously involved. Most recently, James has completed his term as the Chairman of the group. James has held all officer positions of the group and continues to be a support for the incoming chairman.

The Waterbury Regional Chamber acknowledged our CEO, James A. Higgins, for his leadership and dedication to the Young Professionals of Waterbury Region group at the 134th annual chamber meeting. The President and CEO of the chamber, Lynn Ward, commented, "James has been a part of the group since its inception and has been able to lead the group with a focus on membership expansion and I thank him for his countless volunteer hours. Thank you for your hard work and dedication" during the presentation.

James was presented with a plaque and was honored with the chambers sincere appreciation of leadership and dedication.
